#Melodi Returns: PM Modi, Italian PM Giorgia Meloni’s another viral selfie at G7 Summit takes Internet by storm
#Melodi Returns: Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni once again took the internet by storm with a new selfie at the G7 Summit, rekindling the viral #Melodi trend that captivated social media last December. The leaders, both beaming with joy, posed for their second selfie, following the first memorable shot shared by Meloni on her official X handle from the COP28 Summit in 2023.
The warmth between the two PMs was evident when PM Modi was welcomed by Meloni, with both leaders greeting each other with the traditional namaste gesture. They exchanged pleasantries and shared a light moment, showcasing their friendly rapport.
This marks PM Modi’s fifth consecutive participation in the G7 Summit, a testament to India’s growing influence on the global stage. Italy, as the current chair of the G7, hosted this important gathering of the world’s major economies, including Canada, France, Germany, Japan, the UK, and the US, alongside the European Union.
On Friday, PM Modi and PM Meloni held a significant bilateral meeting, focusing on enhancing defence and security cooperation between their nations. According to an official statement from the Ministry of External Affairs, “The two sides discussed bilateral defence and security cooperation and hoped for further enhancing the defence industrial collaboration. They welcomed the forthcoming visit of the Italian aircraft carrier ITS Cavour and training ship ITS Vespucci to India later this year.”
