After Delhi, bomb threats target Ahmedabad schools, bomb disposal squads on spot
PTC Web Desk: Six to seven schools in Ahmedabad reported receiving bomb threat emails indicating potential explosions, according to police sources. Among the affected institutions are Delhi Public School (DPS) and Anand Niketan, both of which immediately notified the police control room upon receipt of the emails.
In response to the threat, police teams, accompanied by bomb squads, were swiftly deployed to various schools across the city. This incident follows a similar pattern to last week’s events, during which more than 150 schools in Delhi-NCR and one in Lucknow received bomb threat emails, leading to widespread evacuations. The authorities later determined that the threats were unfounded.
Preliminary investigations into the recent threats suggest that the IP address used to send the emails to the Delhi-NCR schools originated from Russia, according to sources. Delhi Police suspect that the IP address may have been concealed through the use of a VPN.
