Illegal Mining case: ED conducts raids at 13 locations in Punjab’s Ropar

PTC News Desk: According to sources, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) searched 13 sites in the Ropar district of Punjab on Wednesday in relation to the illegal mining case.
The ED’s Jalandhar-based teams are continuing conducting raids, according to agency officials with knowledge of the development.

Officials disclosed that unauthorised mining operations were taking place on land that the ED had previously taken possession of in relation to the notorious Bhola narcotics case. A pivotal phase of the Special Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) court trial is presently underway in this case.
Numerous people and organizations connected to the illicit mining operations have been uncovered by the investigation, including Shree Ram Stone and well-known mining mobster Nasibchand.
According to officials, the ED has so far retrieved a total of Rs 3 crore through the searches.
