Overnight rescue operation saves 14 trapped in collapsed lift at Rajasthan mine
PTC News Desk: In Rajasthan’s Jhunjhunu district, on Tuesday night, a lift at Hindustan Copper Limited’s Kolihan mine collapsed, rescuing fourteen people, including members of a Kolkata vigilance team. The first three to be brought out were followed by the other eleven.
They were sent to a Jaipur hospital after being saved. The workers at the Kolihan mine who were trapped at a depth of 577 meters were freed throughout the course of overnight rescue operations.

Preliminary reports state that the incident happened when top company officials and the vigilance team descended the shaft to conduct an inspection.
The police reported that roughly 14 officers were caught when the rope of the shaft, or “cage,” broke just as they were about to climb up.
Tuesday night saw the start of the rescue operation, with nine ambulances at the entrance.
