PTC News Desk: The inquiry into the death of an 82-year-old man in a hit-and-run accident in Nagpur has unearthed a gruesome murder plot that his daughter-in-law is said to have orchestrated in exchange for Rs 300 crore in family property. After her father-in-law Purushottam Puttewar was struck by a car more than two weeks prior, Archana Manish Puttewar, assistant director of the town planning department, was taken into custody last week.
According to a police source who spoke with news agency PTI, Ms. Puttewar paid roughly Rs 1 crore for the hit and hired personnel. “She offered money to the defendant so he could buy a used automobile and run her father-in-law over. This was done in an attempt to hide the murder as a crime. The officer stated, “It appears to be to seize control of his ₹300 crore worth of property.”

According to a police source who spoke with news agency PTI, Ms. Puttewar paid roughly ₹ 1 crore for the hit and hired personnel. “She offered money to the defendant so he could buy a used automobile and run her father-in-law over. This was done in an attempt to hide the murder as a crime. The officer lamented, “It seems to be to seize control of his Rs 300 crore worth of property.”
The 53-year-old widow allegedly planned the murder with her husband’s driver, Bagde, and two other suspects, Neeraj Nimje and Sachin Dharmik, the officer continued. They have been accused of murder as well as other offenses under the Motor Vehicles Act and the IPC by the police. Mobile phones, gold jewelry, and two cars have all been taken.
According to the police inquiry, Purushottam Puttewar had visited his wife Shakuntala, who was recuperating from surgery, at the hospital on the day of the event. The rented automobile ran him over on the way back. Manish, his son and Archana’s spouse, is a physician.

Ms. Puttewar’s work in the municipal planning department has also shown egregious inconsistencies, according to the murder inquiry. The investigation has discovered that despite several complaints, nothing was done because of her political ties. She is charged with cleaning unlawful layouts and breaking rules.
A more thorough examination into purported anomalies in her employment might also result from her apprehension and the grave accusation that she planned the murder of a family member.
