Viral video shows lineup of luxury cars at Zomato and Blinkit offices, featuring Porsche and BMW
PTC News Desk: A video showcasing a fleet of luxury cars parked outside the Zomato and Blinkit headquarters in Gurugram has gone viral on social media. The clip, shared on Instagram, highlights an array of high-end vehicles, including Zomato CEO Deepinder Goyal’s Aston Martin. Among the luxury cars, viewers spotted brands like Audi, Mercedes, Porsche, Lamborghini, and a BMW Z4 M40i, reportedly owned by Blinkit CEO Albinder Dhindsa.
The video begins by showing the large Zomato and Blinkit signage at the office entrance before panning to the parking lot, where the impressive collection of luxury cars is displayed. The cars featured include a Porsche 911 Turbo S, Lamborghini Urus, Ferrari Roma, along with models from Audi, Mercedes, and BMW. The Instagram post accompanying the video humorously captioned the scene, “Not so normal I guess.”
Since its posting, the video has garnered over 56,000 likes and more than 1.3 million views. In the comments section, reactions ranged from amusement to awe. Many users humorously attributed Zomato’s recent platform fee hike to the extravagant cars. One commenter wrote, “If you make so much from platform fees and from restaurants and customers, your parking lot will look like this.”
Others joked about the luxury cars being funded by Zomato’s Rs 6 platform fee, which was recently introduced. “Bought a supercar with my 6 rupees,” quipped one user, while another remarked, “Investors’ money burning.”
Some commenters voiced more critical opinions, pointing to the disparity between the luxury enjoyed by executives and the financial struggles of delivery workers. “When you have this much money, give health insurance to delivery people too? Or give them PF?” said one user.
The video has sparked discussions as both Zomato and Swiggy raised their platform fees by 20 per cent from Rs 5 to Rs 6 in select regions from July 14. While some find the video entertaining, others have taken the opportunity to highlight ongoing concerns about business practices and income distribution in the food delivery industry.
