US: Mass shooting near nightclub in Mississippi leaves 3 dead, 16 injured
PTC News Desk: Outside a nightclub in Mississippi, there was a mass shooting that left 16 people injured and three dead.
A report from BNO News states that the incident took place early on Sunday morning (local time). It stated there had not yet been any arrests made in the matter. According to the complaint, the Indianola Police Department was notified of the incident on Church Street in Indianola at approximately one in the morning on Sunday.
When the police arrived, they verified that three youths, all of whom were 19 years old, had been declared deceased and that at least 19 people had been shot.
The injured were moved to a medical facility. Witnesses reported hearing dozens of gunshots in the area, according to the police. They said that while some victims were struck by ricocheting gunfire, others were shot straight.
The reason wasn’t immediately clear. A local newspaper was informed by Indianola Police Chief Ronald Sampson that “a number of people reported that they were standing out there, and they started to hear gunshots.” Located in Sunflower County, around 83 miles northwest of Jackson, sits the little city of Indianola.
