Tragic collision in Chhattisgarh’s Bemetara claims 8 lives, leaves 23 injured
PTC News Desk: Tragedy struck in Chhattisgarh’s Bemetara district as eight lives were lost and 23 individuals sustained injuries in a collision between a goods vehicle and a parked mini-truck on Sunday night.
The fatal incident occurred when a goods vehicle carrying passengers, including five women and three children, was returning from a family function. Unexpectedly, it collided with a stationary mini-truck positioned along the roadside, as confirmed by local authorities.
The victims have been identified as Bhuri Nishad (50), Neera Sahu (55), Geeta Sahu (60), Agniya Sahu (60), Khushbu Sahu (39), along with three children – Madhu Sahu (5), Rikesh Nishad (6), and Twinkle Nishad (6), according to PTI reports.
Following the collision, 23 individuals sustained injuries and were promptly rushed to nearby medical facilities for treatment. Notably, four critically injured individuals were transferred to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences in Raipur for advanced medical care, as confirmed by police sources.
As investigations continue, further details regarding the circumstances surrounding the tragic accident are awaited.
