Tragic accident in Shimla’s Jubbal; Himachal roadways bus falls into gorge, 4 dead

PTC News Desk: Four individuals lost their lives in an accident involving a Himachal Pradesh Road and Transport Corporation (HRTC) bus in the Shimla area on Friday, including the driver and the conductor.

The accident happened in the Kenchi neighborhood of Jubbal when the bus, headed to Kuddu-Diltari in the Rohru region of the Shimla district, slid off the mountain road and plummeted into the ravine underneath.

“The bus overturned on the road around 6:45 in the morning, causing the accident. Together with the driver and conductor, there were five passengers in all. Three injured people have been admitted to a nearby hospital in Rohru, according to HRTC Managing Director Rohan Chand Thakur.

According to him, the conductor and the driver passed away from their injuries while being transported to the hospital, but two people died instantly.

The deceased were identified as the driver Karam Dass, the conductor Rakesh Kumar, the resident of Nepal Dhan Shah, and Birma Devi. Hast Bahadur, Deepika, and Jiyender Rangta have been named as the wounded parties.
