Telegram CEO Pavel Durov reveals he has over ‘100 biological children’
PTC News Desk: Recently, Telegram’s founder and CEO, Pavel Durov, disclosed that he has more than “100 biological kids”. He shared the same with his 5.7 million users on the chat app. I recently found out that I had more than 100 biological children. He questioned, “How is this conceivable for a guy who wants to live alone and has never been married?
About fifteen years ago, according to Mr. Durov, a buddy made a “strange request” of him. “He explained that he and his spouse were unable to conceive because of a reproductive problem, and he begged me to give sperm to a clinic so they could become parents. Before I realised he was dead serious, I laughed my ass off,” he continued.
He claimed to have been informed by the clinic’s manager that there was a shortage of “high-quality donor material”. Continuing, the physician stated that the 39-year-old had a “civic duty to donate more sperm to anonymously help more couples.”
“This sounded crazy enough to get me to sign up for sperm donation,” Mr. Durov went on. By the year 2024, my previous charitable endeavors have facilitated the birth of more than a hundred children across twelve nations. Furthermore, at least one IVF facility still keeps my frozen sperm available for people looking to conceive surreptitiously, even though I ceased being a donor many years ago.”

The businessman declared that he now intends to make his DNA publicly available so that his biological offspring can get in touch with one another. Speaking about the value of healthy sperm, Mr. Durov expressed his pride in having fulfilled his obligation. Although there are hazards, of course, I’m glad I donated. I’m glad that I was able to contribute to the global effort to address the growing problem of sperm scarcity. Additionally, I want to encourage more healthy guys to donate their sperm and help de-stigmatize the practice altogether so that families who are having trouble conceiving will have more options. “Redefine the norm – defy convention,” he posted on Telegram.
His post has received over 1.8 million views since it was shared. A screenshot of his tweet was circulated on X (formerly Twitter), to which a variety of responses were given.
“Tech CEOs’ new hubristic hobby seems to be competing on number of offsprings they can claim – without ever loving them or being in their lives,” a user said.
How did he become a sperm donor?
He stated, “I was just told that I have over 100 biological kids,” in his Telegram post. For a man who wants to live alone and has never been married, how is this possible?
Then he explained how it all began. A strange request was made to me by a buddy fifteen years ago. He explained that he and his spouse were unable to conceive because of a reproductive problem, and he wanted me to give sperm to a clinic so that they might become parents. I laughed so hard that I didn’t realize he was serious.
He was told he was “high-quality donor material” and that his gift may benefit couples all over the world when he went to the clinic to give sperm. Durov continued, “This sounded crazy enough to get me to sign up for sperm donation.”
The CEO disclosed that, despite his decision to cease donating, his frozen sperm is still available for “anonymously used by families who want to have kids” at an IVF facility.
His plan to open-source his DNA:
Durov stated that he wanted his DNA to be publicly available. “There are hazards, of course, but I’m glad I donated.” I’m glad that I was able to contribute to reducing the global sperm scarcity, which is a grave concern these days,” he clarified.
Why did he reveal about being a sperm donor?
He claimed that his reason is to help “destigmatise the whole notion of sperm donation and incentivise more healthy men to do it.” He concluded his share by saying, “Defy convention — redefine the norm!”
