Team India’s departure from Barbados delayed, expected to arrive in Delhi tomorrow
PTC News Desk: The threat posed by Hurricane Beryl on the island nation has caused more delays in the Indian team’s departure from Barbados and arrival in Delhi. On July 2, it was stated that they should depart Barbados by Tuesday at 6 p.m. local time and be in Delhi by Wednesday night. The most recent report, though, indicates that this original concept has been modified.

This Saturday, June 29, the Indian squad defeated South Africa to win the T20 World Cup 2024 trophy. Since then, they have been forced to stay in the island nation as Hurricane Beryl made landfall on Monday, July 1. Hurricane Beryl: Latest
As per the most recent information available on Reuters, Hurricane Beryl is progressively approaching Jamaica while issuing a warning to Haiti and the Dominican Republic.
“Beryl is expected to bring life-threatening winds and storm surge to Jamaica on Wednesday and the Cayman Islands Wednesday night and Thursday,” according to the NHC.
The party is scheduled to travel directly to New Delhi, where they will meet with the Prime Minister, as previously reported by India Today. However, due to travel cancellations brought on by Hurricane Beryl, which made landfall in the area on Monday with significant intensity, squad members, support staff, and their families have been stranded on the island for the last two days.
At that time, the BCCI was planning to arrange for a chartered jet to transport the players home, so as a precaution, the team was supposed to remain based at their hotel.
