A bench led by Chief Justice DY Chandrachud expressed severe dissatisfaction with both the West Bengal government and the hospital administration over their handling of the case. The Court specifically criticized the delay in filing the First Information Report (FIR), which was filed only three hours after the victim’s body was handed over for cremation.
