Sana Khan questions men’s attitudes toward wives wearing skimpy clothes
PTC News Desk: Former actress Sana Khan has voiced her concerns regarding men who “allow” their wives to wear revealing clothing, suggesting that every man should prefer their partner to dress modestly. Khan, who left the entertainment industry to pursue a spiritual path, recently shared her thoughts during a podcast episode with Rubina Dilaik on “Kisi Ne Bataya Nahi.”
In her conversation with Dilaik, who has recently become a mother, Khan expressed her bewilderment at men who take pride in their wives wearing skimpy outfits. She stated, “Har insaan ko acha lagta hai ki uski biwi modest rahe, haina?” (Every man wants his wife to dress modestly, right?). Khan elaborated, saying that when she sees men accompanying their wives in such attire, it strikes her as odd.
“How can you take your wives out in such revealing clothes and feel proud? You say, ‘My wife is looking so hot,’ and then a random guy also tells your wife she looks hot, especially when she’s in small outfits. What is wrong with these men?”
Khan further emphasised the importance of self-respect in relationships, questioning why men would feel proud of their wives attracting attention from other men due to their clothing choices. “There has to be some kind of self-respect. You know she is your woman,” she asserted.
Reflecting on her own journey, Khan shared that in 2019, she decided to step away from the lifestyle she was leading, which included a focus on social media. She recalled, “I used to wear certain kinds of clothes and dance. I thought I was misguiding youth,” expressing regret over her previous choices.
In the same interview, the 36-year-old also referred to the influence of “shaitaan” (the devil), claiming that it had led her to choose “modernism” over simplicity, causing her to wear sleeveless outfits instead of traditional salwar-kameez.
Since leaving her acting career, Sana Khan married Muslim scholar and businessman Anas Saiyad in a Nikaah ceremony in November 2020. The couple welcomed their son, Saiyad Tariq Jamil, in 2023, and together they run multiple businesses while promoting the teachings of Islam.
