PTC News Desk: Police in the Union Territory reported that 50 persons had been arrested in relation to the terrorist attack on a bus in the Reasi area on Sunday, which resulted in nine fatalities and 41 injuries. The announcement came only hours after Prime Minister Narendra Modi conducted a review conference to evaluate the situation in Jammu and Kashmir.
The district’s Arnas and Mahore regions, which were terrorist hotspots from 1995 to 2005, are now included in the search effort to find the terrorists as part of the big crackdown.
“Important leads have been found, which will help identify and apprehend individuals who might have been engaged in planning the attack. Search activities have been extended to include the remote areas of Arnas and Mahore in order to guarantee a thorough investigation,” a police spokesperson was cited by news agency PTI as saying.

Terrorists opened fire on a 53-seater bus on Sunday that was transporting pilgrims from Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, and Rajasthan to the Mata Vaishno Devi shrine in Katra. The bus was leaving the Shiv Khori temple. Nine people died when the bus fell into a ravine.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi presided over a review meeting earlier on Thursday in order to assess the state of affairs in Jammu and Kashmir. He received a comprehensive briefing on the state of affairs and the ongoing counterterrorism operations when he spoke with Amit Shah, the home minister, and Ajit Doval, the recently reappointed national security advisor.
The Prime Minister, according to sources, has requested the use of the “full spectrum of the armed forces’ counter-terror capabilities”.
