Nation is clear ‘we do not want Narendra Modi’, says Rahul Gandhi at media briefing | Watch
PTC Web Desk: Congress MP Rahul Gandhi and party chief Mallikarjun Kharge addressed a press conference in New Delhi on Tuesday. “The Lok Sabha election results are a victory for the people and democracy. The people did not give a clear majority to any single party. The BJP sought votes for a single person, and this mandate is against Modiji,” said Kharge.
Kharge said, “We fought the elections on issues like unemployment, inflation, and attacks on institutions. People resonated with our issues. The PM spread lies about the Congress manifesto. The BJP tried to illegally capture constitutional institutions and used them against the opposition.”
Rahul Gandhi added, “This election was not fought against a political party. Narendra Modi and Amit Shah captured and intimidated the agencies. The BJP even put chief ministers in jail. We respected INDIA bloc members and fought the election together. The Congress has given a new vision to the country.”
He further said, “People directly correlate Modiji to Adani. This is a direct relationship of corruption. The voters have told Modi that they don’t want him.”
When asked whether the Congress would consult with former allies JDU and TDP, Rahul Gandhi said, “We will hold a meeting with INDIA bloc members tomorrow and take a decision then.”
