Maharastra: Three-storey building collapses in Navi Mumbai’s Shahbaz village; many feared trapped
PTC News Desk: In Shahbaz village, Navi Mumbai, a three-story building collapsed on Saturday morning, suspected to have trapped several persons beneath the debris. The NDRF team, police, and fire department are on the scene and conducting the rescue effort.
The structure collapsed at five in the morning, according to Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation commissioner Kailas Shinde. This structure is G 3. The Belapur ward includes the Shahbaz settlement. The building contained thirteen apartments. Two people have been saved, and there are probably still two trapped. Teams from NDRF are on the scene. “A rescue operation has commenced,” reporters were informed by Kailas Shinde.
The two people who were saved have been admitted to a hospital, and according to Kailas Shinde, their conditions are stable. “The building is ten years old. An investigation is underway. The building’s owner would face consequences “The commissioner of the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation declared.
The tragedy occurred one week after a part of a balcony of a four-story residential structure in south Mumbai collapsed, killing an 80-year-old woman and injuring four others.
According to a fire brigade spokesman, the incident happened on Saturday of last week at Rubinnisa Manzil, which is located on Sleater Road close to the Grant Road train station. It was around eleven in the morning, he said.
