Kamala Harris campaign adds desi flair with hindi music video | Watch
PTC News Desk: Indian-American community leader Ajay Bhutoria has introduced a Hindi campaign song titled “Nacho Nacho” in support of Democratic nominee Kamala Harris. Drawing inspiration from the Oscar-winning track “Naatu Naatu” from the film “RRR,” the song features Bollywood singer Shibani Kashyap and is designed to engage South Asian voters ahead of the November 5 election.
“‘Nacho Nacho’ isn’t just a song; it’s a movement,” Bhutoria explained. “This campaign aims to connect with the diverse South Asian American community across battleground states and key districts. With over 4.4 million Indian Americans and 6 million South Asians eligible to vote, our goal is to help propel Vice President Kamala Harris to victory in 2024.”

The music video not only showcases the song but also features Kamala Harris accepting her nomination, emphasising its appeal across various language and cultural groups, including Hindi, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, Gujarati, Bengali, and more.
Bhutoria underscored the historical significance of Harris’s candidacy, stating, “In 2020, we made history by electing the first woman of South Asian and African American descent as Vice President. Now, in 2024, it’s time to make her our next President.”
If successful, Kamala Harris, 59, would become the first woman to serve as President in the US’s 248-year history. She was nominated as the Democratic candidate following President Joe Biden’s decision to withdraw from the presidential race due to concerns over his age, particularly after a poorly received debate with Republican rival Donald Trump in June.
Polling Data on Harris vs. Trump
As the November election approaches, recent polls show a tight race between Kamala Harris and Donald Trump. According to a New York Times/Siena poll released on Sunday, Trump leads Harris nationally by 48 to 47 per cent. The same poll indicates that Harris holds a slight edge in Wisconsin, Michigan, and Pennsylvania, while the race is tied in key swing states including Nevada, Georgia, North Carolina, and Arizona.
Additionally, a CBS News/YouGov poll shows Harris slightly ahead by one percentage point in Michigan and Wisconsin and tied in Pennsylvania. The first televised debate between Kamala Harris and Donald Trump is scheduled for the coming days, adding further intensity to the competitive race.
