Israeli missile strikes home of Lebanese journalist during live interview

PTC News Desk: A shocking incident occurred when an Israeli missile struck the home of Lebanese journalist Fadi Boudaya while he was conducting a live interview on television. Boudaya, the editor-in-chief of Miraya International Network, was in the middle of his broadcast when the missile hit, causing him to lose his balance and fall off-screen.

Viral footage of the incident captures Boudaya mid-sentence, abruptly transitioning into a scream as the explosion erupted. Despite the dramatic circumstances, he sustained only minor injuries.

Following the attack, which many perceived as targeting a journalist known for his sympathetic views towards Hezbollah, Boudaya took to social media platform X to reassure his followers. He expressed gratitude to those who reached out to him, writing, “Thank you to everyone who called, texted, checked in, and to everyone who felt any emotion. Thank God, I am fine, thanks to God and His blessings upon us, and we return to continue our media duty in support of the resistance. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.”

The missile strike on Boudaya’s home highlights the escalating tensions between Israel and Hezbollah, the Iranian-backed militant group. Since the outbreak of the Gaza war last October, both parties have engaged in intense cross-border conflict, with recent hostilities intensifying further.

The situation deteriorated after a cyberattack targeted Hezbollah members, compromising their communication devices such as pagers and walkie-talkies, with Hezbollah accusing Israel of being behind the attacks.

The violence in the region escalated significantly when Israeli airstrikes in Lebanon resulted in over 550 casualties, including 50 children, on Monday. That same evening, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu released a video message urging Lebanese citizens to evacuate their homes, stating, “Once the operation is finished, they can return to their homes.”

The following day, Israeli airstrikes in Beirut resulted in the death of Ibrahim Qubaisi, the head of Hezbollah’s missile division. The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed Qubaisi’s death, indicating he was a significant figure in Hezbollah’s missile operations. Reports also indicated that at least two other high-ranking commanders were killed in the strikes.

These airstrikes, particularly targeting the Dahiyeh suburb, occurred amid fierce cross-border clashes, during which Hezbollah reportedly fired over 300 rockets at northern Israeli cities. The escalating violence marks a critical point in the ongoing conflict, with both sides suffering significant losses.
