IndiGo passenger requests Tamil pilot to make the announcement in hindi; video goes viral
PTC News Desk: An IndiGo pilot from Tamil Nadu, Pradeep Krishnan, has captured the internet’s attention after a passenger on a Chennai to Mumbai flight requested him to make an in-flight announcement in Hindi. What started as a simple request turned into a charming and heartwarming moment that has since gone viral on social media.
The incident was captured in an Instagram reel, which has already garnered over a million views. In the video, Krishnan is seen delivering the in-flight announcement in Hindi, with a distinct South Indian accent that added an endearing quality to his effort.
Krishnan’s announcement went as follows: “Namaskar, mera naam Pradeep Krishnan hai. Mera first officer ka naam Bala hai. Hamara lead ka naam Priyanka hai. Hum aaj Chennai se Mumbai jaayenge, 35,000 mein udayenge, pura distance 1,500 kms hai, pura time one hour ek ghante thirty minutes hai, jaane ke turbulance hoga, hum seat belt daalenge, main bhi daalenge. Dhanyawad (Hello, my name is Pradeep Krishnan. My first officer is Bala. Our lead’s name is Priyanka. We are flying from Chennai to Mumbai at an altitude of 35,000 feet, covering a distance of 1,500 kilometres in one hour and thirty minutes).”

In the post accompanying the video, Krishnan humorously wrote, “A very sweet passenger asked me to make an announcement in Hindi. indha vechuko! I genuinely tried.”
The pilot’s earnest effort was met with widespread praise on social media. One user commented, “That’s the sweetest announcement,” while another noted, “This is hilarious.” Some even wished they could have seen the passengers’ reactions, with one user writing, “You should have taken a video of the passenger’s expressions. Missed it. I wish I had been there on this flight.”
The viral video even caught the attention of actor-turned-entrepreneur Parul Gulati, who playfully remarked, “He had me at ‘udayenge’.”
Pradeep Krishnan’s attempt to connect with his passengers in Hindi has not only earned him widespread admiration but also highlighted the beauty of embracing different languages and cultures with a touch of humor.
