IMD issues red alert for Rajasthan, MP, Gujarat, Goa, and Maharashtra
PTC News Desk: With heavy rain expected in these areas, the India Meteorological Department issued a “red” advisory on Sunday for the following regions: East Rajasthan, East Madhya Pradesh, West Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Konkan, Goa, and Central Maharashtra.
The monsoon is currently in full swing. North East MP is experiencing a severe depression. Low pressure is seen in Southwest Rajasthan. We have also issued a red alert for the Konkan region, Goa, eastern Rajasthan, Gujarat, western Madhya Pradesh, and central Maharashtra, where we anticipate exceptionally high rains. Dr. Naresh Kumar, an IMD scientist, informed news agency ANI that there won’t be any rain in Delhi-NCR for the next two days.
In its most recent press release, IMD forecasted thunderstorms and light to moderate rainfall over the next seven days for Rajasthan, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, and Uttarakhand.
During the course of the week, isolated to scattered rainfall is predicted for Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, and Delhi, and scattered to fairly extensive rainfall for Uttar Pradesh. IMD predicted that throughout the week, there is a very good chance of very widespread to widespread light to moderate rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms over East and Northeast India.

IMD predicted that on August 4, there is a high probability of isolated, intense rainfall over West Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Konkan, and the Madhya Maharashtra ghat area.
Over the course of the week, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, Saurashtra, and Kutch are expected to see scattered to moderately widespread rainfall, while the Konkan, Goa, and Gujarat regions are likely to have fairly widespread to widespread light to moderate rainfall accompanied with thunderstorms and lightning.
Over the next five days, the IMD forecasted moderately widespread to widespread light to moderate rainfall over Kerala, Mahe, Lakshadweep, and coastal Karnataka in the South Peninsula region. During the same period, there was isolated to sporadic rainfall in the regions of Rayalaseema, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, Telangana, and inland Karnataka.
According to IMD, the monsoon trough at mean sea level currently moves through the neighborhoods of Bankura and Canning, Bikaner, Jaipur, and Satna, as well as the Center of Depression over north Jharkhand. It then moves southeast to the northeast.
