Ex Agniveers to receive 10% reservation and age relaxations in CISF, BSF, and RPF
PTC News Desk: Ten per cent of constable positions will be reserved for former Agniveer troops by a number of central military services, including the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), Border Security Force (BSF), and Railway Protection Force.
In June 2022, the government unveiled the Agnipath recruitment programme. The military recruits soldiers between the ages of 17 and a half and 21 for a four-year term under the new system. Later on, 25 per cent of these soldiers are kept on for further service. The rest receive a sizeable severance payment upon retirement.
The Congress is among the Opposition parties that have criticized the plan, raising concerns over what will happen to the 75% of Agniveers who are not re-elected after their four-year term.

Ex-Agniveers to get relaxation in CISF recruitment
According to CISF Director General Nina Singh, the organisation is getting ready for this hiring procedure in accordance with the Union Home Ministry’s decision. In all upcoming constable appointments, 10% of positions would be set aside for former Agniveers, according to her announcement.
Physical examination exemptions and age relaxations will be granted to former Agniveers. The age relaxation will be five years in the first year and three years in the following years.
“This will present an opportunity for Ex-Agniveer, and the CISF will make sure of that. The CISF would get people who are disciplined and well-trained as a result, according to Singh, as reported by DD News.
BSF relaxs norms for ex-Agniveers
Ten percent of all openings, according to BSF Director General Nitin Agrawal, would be set aside for agnavers. Age relaxations will also be implemented; the initial batch will receive five years of age relaxation, while following batches will only receive three years.
He claimed that since ex-Agniveers have four years of experience and are well-trained and disciplined, the force will gain by hiring them.
“They’ve worked for four years. They are highly skilled and disciplined employees. Since the BSF is receiving trained men, this is excellent news,” Agrawal stated.
RPF also provides benefits to ex-Agniveers
The RPF’s director general, Manoj Yadava, declared that ten percent of all upcoming constable hires will be reserved for former Agniveers. He was excited to welcome back former Agniveers, stating that their presence will give the force newfound vigor, strength, and morale.
