PTC News Desk: On Tuesday, Rouse Avenue Court in Delhi issued a production warrant against Arvind Kejriwal, the jailed chief minister, and summoned his Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). The court took note of a supplemental charge sheet that the Enforcement Directorate (ED) had filed in relation to the agency’s investigation into money laundering pertaining to the AAP government’s now-scrapped excise policy.
When CM Kejriwal’s extended judicial custody expires on Friday, Special Judge Kaveri Baweja ordered that he be physically brought in court, taking note of the ED’s seventh supplemental charge sheet in the case.
The eighth supplemental charge sheet, which lists two more defendants, Vinod Chauhan and Ashish Mathur, was also acknowledged by Special Judge Baweja. A production warrant was issued against Chauhan, and Mathur was summoned. According to the judge, the two must also physically appear on the same day as the AAP national convenor.
Kejriwal is named in the seventh supplemental charge sheet. On July 4, the court postponed making a decision regarding the seventh and eighth supplementary chargesheets until July 9.

The Delhi chief minister was named in a charge sheet by the Enforcement Directorate, which cited purported conversations between him and “hawala operators” about the profits of crime in the liquor policy case. The conversations were purportedly retrieved from the gadgets of these “hawala operators” following the politician’s denial to divulge the password to his devices. The politician was apprehended on March 21 for reportedly evading several ED summonses.
The agency claims that Chauhan enabled the movement of ₹25.5 crore from Delhi to Goa during the coastal state’s assembly elections in February 2022. He is also charged with setting up “meetings” between Kejriwal and judges of the high court.
The ED discovered that Mathur was a colleague of Chauhan’s. For his alleged involvement in the case, the former has not yet been placed under arrest.
