Attack on Hindus in Bangladesh: Islamists flee as women are kidnapped and homes are burned
PTC News Desk: It would have been something if tensions had been resolved following Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s resignation, but that isn’t the case. The quota demonstration has gotten so violent that the large-scale demonstrators are now pursuing minorities and attacking them.
It is obvious that Islamists are targeting Hindus in order to capitalize on the bloodshed now occurring in the nation. Extreme violence and anarchy are reported to have been caused by Islamist crowds destroying Hindu homes, setting them on fire, and kidnapping women. These reports come from various parts of the nation.

Videos and eyewitness accounts from the impacted communities depict horrifying images of women being abducted and Hindu homes being plundered and set on fire. The attackers are inciting fear and anguish among the Hindu populace by acting with little regard for the law or for people’s safety.

The Hindu population now lives in daily terror due to the situation’s escalation, and the attackers have been emboldened by the government’s lack of a robust response. Human rights organizations from around the world have denounced the violence and demanded that the Hindu minority be immediately protected. But because the Bangladeshi government has been dragging its feet, the situation has gotten worse.
Approximately 100 people were killed in violent riots on August 4, one of whom was a Hindu council member. Several Hindus were forced to seek shelter as a result of the deliberate targeting of Hindu residences and temples, including those owned by ISKCON and the Kali temple.
An unrestricted curfew has been implemented in reaction to the ongoing violence. 101 people have died as a result of the escalating violence between supporters of Sheikh Hasina and demonstrators calling for her removal. The violence, particularly between opponents and activists from the Awami League, Chhatra League, and Jubo League, has continued, prompting the government to impose a statewide curfew and cut off internet access.
