Amit Shah calls Kharge’s remarks on PM Modi ‘disgraceful and distasteful’
PTC News Desk: Union Home Minister Amit Shah condemned Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge’s comments about Prime Minister Narendra Modi, labelling them as “absolutely distasteful and disgraceful.”
The remarks were made during an election rally at Jasrota in Jammu and Kashmir, where Kharge, who is 83-year-old, suffered a ‘syncopal attack’ but continued his speech after a brief pause. He stated, “I am not going to die so early. I will stay alive till PM Modi is removed from power.”
Amit Shah criticised Kharge for what he deemed a “bitter display of spite,” arguing that it was inappropriate to involve the Prime Minister in his personal health issues. In a post on X, Shah expressed his disapproval: “Yesterday, the Congress President Shri Mallikarjun Kharge Ji has outperformed himself, his leaders, and his party in being absolutely distasteful and disgraceful in his speech.”

Shah also remarked on the apparent animosity and fear the Congress party harbors toward PM Modi, suggesting that Kharge’s focus on the Prime Minister indicates a preoccupation with him.
“As for the health of Mr. Kharge Ji, Modi Ji prays, I pray, and we all pray that he lives a long, healthy life. May he continue to live for many years and may he live to see the creation of a Viksit Bharat by 2047,” Shah concluded, extending his well wishes despite the political tension.
