PM Modi to inaugurate six new Vande Bharat trains today
PTC News Desk: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to inaugurate six new Vande Bharat trains on Sunday, enhancing connectivity, safety, and passenger amenities across various regions. The ceremony will take place at Tatanagar Junction Railway Station around 10 am, according to a release from the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO).
The addition of these six new trains will expand the Vande Bharat fleet from 54 to 60, increasing the number of daily trips to 120. These trains will serve over 280 districts across 24 states and union territories, further strengthening the modern railway network, the Railway Ministry stated.
The newly introduced routes are Tatanagar-Patna, Brahmapur-Tatanagar, Rourkela-Howrah, Deoghar-Varanasi, Bhagalpur-Howrah, and Gaya-Howrah. The Vande Bharat trains, designed under the ‘Make in India’ initiative, offer advanced safety features and world-class amenities, aimed at providing faster and more efficient travel.
“The Vande Bharat Portfolio is continuously expanding with new services to improve connectivity,” the ministry said. “With faster commute times, cutting-edge safety features, and luxury amenities, Indian Railways is setting new standards in travel.”
The expansion of the Vande Bharat fleet marks a significant milestone in the transformation of Indian Railways, underscoring its role as a crucial component of the nation’s transportation infrastructure.
