Cristiano Ronaldo creates history by surpassing 1 bn social media followers
PTC News Desk: Portuguese football sensation Cristiano Ronaldo, aged 39, has achieved a monumental milestone by becoming the first individual to surpass 1 billion followers across all social media platforms.
Ronaldo, currently playing for Al-Nassr in Saudi Arabia, has amassed a staggering 639 million followers on Instagram, approximately 170.5 million on Facebook, and 113 million on X (formerly Twitter). Additionally, his YouTube channel has rapidly gained 50 million subscribers within a single week.
Ronaldo celebrated this historic achievement with a heartfelt message on X, marking the occasion of reaching the 1 billion followers milestone.

“We’ve made history – 1 BILLION followers! This is more than just a number; it’s a testament to our shared passion, drive, and love for the game and beyond,” Ronaldo wrote.

He continued, “From the streets of Madeira to the biggest stages in the world, I’ve always played for my family and for you, and now 1 billion of us stand together. You’ve been with me every step of the way, through all the highs and the lows. This journey is our journey, and together, we’ve shown that there are no limits to what we can achieve.”
Ronaldo expressed his gratitude to his followers, stating, “Thank you for believing in me, for your support, and for being part of my life. The best is yet to come, and we’ll keep pushing, winning, and making history together.”
The football star’s social media presence surpasses other prominent figures, including Argentina’s Lionel Messi and Brazil’s Neymar. In the 100 million follower club, Ronaldo is joined by Hollywood actor and former professional wrestler Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, American singer-songwriter Beyoncé, and Ariana Grande.
