Two teen girls found hanging in UP village, family accuses murder
PTC News Desk: Two teenage girls, aged 15 and 18, were discovered hanging from a tree in a mango orchard in Farrukhabad, Uttar Pradesh, today. The teenagers had gone out the previous evening to attend a Janmashtami celebration but failed to return home. Their bodies were found early this morning.
According to family members, the girls had initially left for the event at a local temple around the time of Janmashtami celebrations. They returned briefly due to rain but later went out again, staying until around 1 am. When they did not return home, their family began searching for them. Initially, they believed the girls might have stayed overnight at their aunt’s house, but they were not found there.
The father of one of the victims reported that they were eventually informed by an acquaintance about the bodies hanging from a tree in the orchard. “When we arrived around 6 am, we found the girls hanging from the tree. We suspect they were murdered and then hanged,” he said.

The police recovered a phone and a SIM card from the scene. District police chief Alok Priyadarshi confirmed that the girls were close friends and stated that an autopsy will provide further details about the case. The phone and SIM card are being analyzed to gather more information as the investigation progresses. A forensic team has collected evidence from the scene, and the bodies have been sent for autopsy.
Akhilesh Yadav, leader of the Samajwadi Party, has called for a swift and thorough investigation into the case. In a statement on social media, Yadav criticized the BJP government, urging for a fair investigation to resolve the suspected murder. “Such incidents create an atmosphere of fear in society and deeply affect the women community,” Yadav said, emphasizing the need to prioritize women’s safety and rise above political concerns.
