The TMC MP highlighted the outcry from the public by writing on his official X handle, “It is hard to conceive of a more bestial, heinous crime than the murder and rape of a young woman that took place in Kolkata.”

Derek O’Brien enumerated the grounds for the Chief Minister’s planned demonstration, stating that the central inquiry agency, which has assumed control of the matter, is required to provide daily updates on the investigation. Additionally, he stated that the CBI needs to follow the Chief Minister’s directive to the Kolkata Police to complete the investigation by Saturday.
One suspect has been taken into custody by Kolkata Police. Only until the CBI apprehends all parties and takes the case to a fast-track court will justice be served, he declared.

“The case shouldn’t be casually dropped when the CBI took control. The most severe penalties for the offenders and prompt justice are desperately needed right now. “No one who carried out this heinous deed should be spared,” the Rajya Sabha MP continued.
According to the head of the TMC, 19 individuals have been arrested by the Kolkata Police for committing destruction at the hospital during the nationwide ‘Reclaim the Night’ demonstration. “Those who attacked and ransacked the hospital also need to be booked,” he stated.
The police claim that late on Wednesday night, a group of 40 to 50 individuals surged into the hospital grounds dressed in protest attire and vandalized property.
