Delhi weather update: Heavy rain expected today; IMD forecasts continued showers till August 8
PTC News Desk: Beginning on Tuesday, the national capital of India is expected to have severe rain for three days, following a day of mild rainfall in some areas. During this time, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a “yellow” advisory; after that, the amount of rainfall may progressively decrease.
The national capital is expected to see quite extensive rainfall on Wednesday and Thursday, and scattered rainfall at a few locations on Tuesday, according to the weather service. According to the IMD, the city’s minimum temperature is probably going to be 27 degrees Celsius, while its maximum might be as high as 34 degrees.
The likelihood of significant rainfall is rising as a cyclonic circulation over Rajasthan moves closer to Delhi, according to Mahesh Palawat, vice president of Skymet, a private weather forecasting agency.
Monday saw high surface winds of 30 to 40 kmph throughout the day, along with sporadic and moderate rains in some areas of the nation’s capital. According to the IMD, there was “trace” rainfall in the next nine hours after the Safdarjung weather station reported 4.5mm of rain between Sunday and Monday between 8.30 am and the Palam weather station recorded 1.5mm of rain until 8.30 am.
