PTC News Desk: For both Jains and Hindus, Guru Purnima—which occurs on the full moon day of the Ashadha month (June–July)—is an extremely significant holiday. This year, on July 21, people all throughout the world will celebrate Guru Purnima. Guru Purnima is observed by Nepal and Bhutan in addition to India.
This is the time to truly honour and be grateful to gurus, who are sources of guidance and knowledge. Since the word “Guru” means “dispeller of darkness,” it emphasises their role in eradicating ignorance and illuminating the path to enlightenment. However, the full moon night on which it falls is referred to as “Purnima.”
Because Guru Purnima falls on the birthday of Veda Vyas, the sage who penned the Mahabharata, it is also known as Vyas Purnima. As per the Hindi Panchang, Guru Purnima signifies the culmination of multiple yogas. This year on the day of Guru Purnima, Sarvartha Siddhi Yoga is being developed, says Pandit Sanjay Upadhyay, an astrologer located in Kashi.
What Is Sarvartha Siddhi Yoga?
Sarvartha Siddhi Yoga is a kind of yoga that develops on a specific day of the week when specific nakshatras coincide. These nakshatras together are seen to be lucky for starting new endeavours or enterprises. At this point, it is expected that any new endeavour will succeed. On Sunday, July 21, Sarvartha Siddhi Yoga will be open all day long.
