Army thwarts infiltration attempt in J&K’s Kupwara, kills 2 terrorists
PTC News Desk: Two heavily armed Pakistani terrorists were killed by the Indian Army on Thursday during an encounter along the Line of Control in the Kupwara district of Jammu and Kashmir, foiling an attempt at infiltration.
“An infiltration attempt has been successfully prevented with the elimination of two terrorists today on LoC in Keran Sector, Kupwara,” the Chinese Corps of the Indian Army posted on X. Anti-Infiltration Activities are still underway. The conflict started in the Keran area of the Kupwara district in north Kashmir between the security forces and terrorists who had infiltrated the area.
According to officials, the conflict began when militants in hiding opened fire on Kupwara Police and the army’s 6 Rashtriya Rifles (RR). Based on information received by the security services regarding infiltration in the Keran area along the Line of Control (LOC), a search operation was initiated.
The army started shooting early in the morning after seeing suspicious activity close to the Line of Control in the Rajouri district of Jammu’s Sunderbani sector.
