Swati Maliwal assault case: 50 witnesses listed in charge-sheet against Kejriwal’s aide Bibhav Kumar

PTC News Desk: In a case of assault against Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MP Swati Maliwal, the Delhi Police on Tuesday filed a charge sheet against Bibhav Kumar, an as`sistant to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, listing 50 witnesses, according to The Times of India.

The metropolitan magistrate Gaurav Goyal’s court received the 500-page charge sheet. Because Bibhav Kumar was under judicial detention, which the magistrate prolonged until July 30, he appeared in court by video conference.

On July 30, when a judgment regarding taking cognizance of the chargesheet will be made, Bibhav Kumar must be physically present in court. There are fifty witness statements on the chargesheet.

Swati Maliwal, an AAP member in the Rajya Sabha, said that on May 13, Bibhav Kumar had beaten her at the chief minister’s house in Delhi. He was detained and placed in judicial prison on May 18. On May 27, June 7, and July 12, his bail was denied because of the seriousness of the crimes and the possibility that he would tamper with the evidence.

Kumar is facing a number of accusations and charges, including wrongful restraint, criminal intimidation, assault or use of force with the intent to disrobe a woman, assault or use of force with the intent to outrage a woman’s modesty, attempt to commit culpable homicide, destruction of evidence, and giving false information.

It is said that Kumar attempted to format his phone and move data to his mother’s phone. In addition, he altered both his own and Kejriwal’s home security camera footage. He also declined to provide officials the passcode to his phone.

In addition to Maliwal and Kumar, the chief minister’s residence security personnel will testify.
