PTC News Desk: India is going to score a huge total here as Shubman Gill reaches his first half-century of the series in just 36 balls. In Harare, India captain Shubman Gill chose to bat first after winning the toss against Zimbabwe. Sanju Samson, Khaleel Ahmed, Shivam Dube, and Yashasvi Jaiswal returned to the Indian XI, resulting in four changes to the starting lineup.
Abhishek Sharma, who scored an incredible century in the second Twenty20 International, was moved down the batting order to make room for Yashasvi Jaiswal, who is comparatively older. Jaiswal was a member of the team that won the T20 World Cup last month and is making his first appearance in the starting lineup since January of this year, during a bilateral series between Afghanistan and India.
The two batting heavyweights, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma, have both retired, and Gill and Jaiswal were once considered the front-runners. With more performances like this one from Abhishek, it can and should change. As India looks to seize the lead in this series for the first time, Jaiswal will now want to cement his spot with captain Gill.

A lot of attention will also be focused on Sanju Samson, who entered the playing XI in lieu of Dhruv Jurel. Similar to Jaiswal, Samson was compelled to start on the bench for all of India’s Twenty20 World Cup matches, with Rishabh Pant receiving preference. These bilateral series are crucial for Samson, who hasn’t played in the starting XI with any consistency.
Shivam Dube and Rinku Singh are in the same XI for the third T20I. Prior to the T20 World Cup squad selection, the two were fierce rivals for one position, with Dube ultimately emerging victorious. With Washington Sundar in the lower middle order and Jaiswal and Abhishek already in the top order, India’s XI is now noticeably left-heavy.
In the second Twenty20 International, Rinku put on a show. He finished the game undefeated after hitting 48 off of just 22 balls, and he will keep up the good work. Dube, on the other hand, just won the T20 World Cup. Although his performance in the competition had been rather lackluster, the southpaw turned up the heat in the crucial final, making a vital 27 off 16 balls towards the end of the Indian innings.
