The Calcutta High Court ordered the CBI to file a comprehensive report on the alleged illegal conversion of agricultural land into water bodies for pisciculture after conducting a thorough inspection of revenue records and a physical inspection of the allegedly converted land, noting that the investigation will be overseen by the court.
In addition, the high court ordered the CBI to look into claims of land grabbing and crimes against women in Sandeshkhali and provide a thorough report to it on the following hearing date.
