PTC News Desk: India is getting ready for their matchup with the reigning winners of the T20 World Cup 2024, England, when they play each other in the second semifinal of the competition on Thursday in Guyana. In contrast to the first semi-final between Afghanistan and South Africa, which was rain-free, there will likely be a lot of showers during the second match in Guyana, especially after the game is set to start at 10:30 am (local time). Rainfall was also reported in Guyana the day before, and more is predicted for the second semifinal.

Rain is predicted at the site throughout the day, including early in the morning, according to Accuweather, but it will probably start to get heavier after 9:00 am local time (6:30 pm IST). The chance of rain is predicted to peak at 11:00 am local time (8:30 pm IST) and to decrease starting at noon.

What happens if the India vs. England T20 World Cup 2024 semifinal is swept away by rain?

For each of the two semi-finals, the International Cricket Council (ICC) has not scheduled a single Reserve Day. However, the India vs. England game will have an extra four hours to finish. If the match is to produce a result, it must be a 10-over-per-side contest.

The match will be deemed abandoned if none of the two teams can bat for ten overs. Based on the outcomes both teams achieved in the campaign’s group round, a washout would send Team India into the championship match while eliminating England.
