PM Modi arrives in Srinagar for 2-day visit, to lead International Yoga Day event tomorrow
PTC News Desk: On Thursday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi left for a two-day trip to Jammu and Kashmir, where he will take part in International Yoga Day and inaugurate or launch projects valued at Rs 1,500 crore.
“I’m heading to Srinagar, where I’ll be participating in two events. I’m going to the youth-led development-focused ‘Empowering Youth, Transforming J&K’ session later this evening.

“We will lay the foundation stones for or inaugurate major projects valued at more than Rs 1500 crore. These projects deal with education, water supply, infrastructure, and other topics.
Before departing for Srinagar, the prime minister wrote on X, “Tomorrow morning, I will participate in the Yoga Day program in Srinagar.”

This is the first trip to Jammu and Kashmir that Prime Minister Modi has made since assuming office for a third term.
In J&K, he will officially open and lay the groundwork for several development projects valued at more than Rs 1,500 crore. Additionally, he will introduce the Rs. 1,800 crore Competitiveness Improvement in Agriculture and Allied Sectors Project (JKCIP).
“The prime minister will take part in the 10th International Day of Yoga event at the SKICC in Srinagar on June 21 at approximately 6.30 am.
According to a press release from the Press Information Bureau, the prime minister will speak to the group on this special occasion and then participate in CYP Yoga. Thorough multi-tier security protocols have been instituted for the prime minister’s two-day sojourn in Kashmir.

On Friday, he will lead a yoga class with around 7,000 attendees on the gorgeous Dal Lake shores, according to officials. According to the officials, the participants have spent the last three days receiving instruction in the yoga “Asanas” that the prime minister would practice.
They stated that a large number of security force members have been stationed around Srinagar to make sure the prime minister’s visit goes smoothly. They reported that the roads leading to SKICC have been blocked off.
Tuesday marked the end of the SKICC’s sanitisation operation, and they said that all SKICC officials, security guards, and other on-duty individuals had their background checks checked, as had the athletes who will be there. ‘Temporary Red Zone’ was proclaimed by the Srinagar Police for the operating of drones and quadcopters as part of the security measures.

“Srinagar city has been declared as ‘Temporary Red Zone’ for the operation of drones and quadcopters as per provisions of Rule 24(2) of Drone Rules, 2021 with immediate effect,” the police stated on X on June 18. The police stated that all unauthorized drone operations in the “red zone” could result in penalties based on the drone guidelines.
According to the officials, a number of yoga sessions have been performed over the previous three days at various locations throughout the city and valley, in advance of the main event on Friday.
According to them, a large-scale yoga camp took place at Polo Ground on Wednesday, while a yoga event took place next to the famous clock tower in the Lal Chowk city center. The officials stated that there was another celebration for the 10th IYD at the SKICC here and that comparable activities were organized around the Valley.
