Modi 3.0 Cabinet | The much-anticipated swearing-in ceremony for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s third term, dubbed “Modi 3.0,” is set to be a grand event , with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) securing 240 seats and along with its allies, it stands at 293 seats. Chandrababu Naidu’s TDP and Nitish Kumar’s JDU, having won 16 and 12 seats respectively in their respective states, have extended support to the NDA.
Before Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s swearing-in for a third consecutive term, the newly elected MPs of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) to gather today to finalise the list of cabinet ministers.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to make history by becoming the first Indian Prime Minister to serve three consecutive terms since Jawaharlal Nehru. His swearing-in ceremony, along with the induction of his new cabinet, is scheduled for 7.15 pm on June 09, 2024, at Rashtrapati Bhavan that will mark a significant milestone in Indian political history.
TDP leader Chandrababu Naidu and JDU’s Nitish Kumar, who have emerged as kingmakers in this scenario, publicly endorsed Modi as the NDA’s prime ministerial candidate.
PM Modi’s Expected New Cabinet List
The BJP is expected to retain key ministries such as Home, Defence, Finance, and External Affairs in the Modi 3.0 government, while the NDA allies will likely be assigned Minister of State positions within these ministries.
Amit Shah: Expected to retain the Home Ministry, Amit Shah, a close associate of Modi, might also take on additional portfolios.
Nirmala Sitharaman: Likely to retain the Finance Ministry, Nirmala Sitharaman has managed both defence and finance portfolios despite never contesting a Lok Sabha election.
Rajnath Singh: A consistent figure in Modi’s Cabinet since 2014, Rajnath Singh, who initially served as Home Minister and later as Defence Minister, is anticipated to continue as Defence Minister.
Piyush Goyal: A veteran in Modi’s Cabinet since 2014 and Leader of the House in Rajya Sabha, Goyal contested and won the Lok Sabha election from Mumbai North. He is expected to oversee the Ministry of Commerce and Industry.
Nitin Gadkari: Known for his reliability and cross-party appeal, Gadkari has been the Minister of Road Transport and Highways and is expected to maintain this portfolio.
Ashwini Vaishnav: Vaishnav is seen as an important BJP leader and is expected to be assigned a significant ministry in the new term.
