Viral Video: Leopard quenches thirst in Rajasthan amid sweltering heat, captivates the internet
PTC News Desk: An Indian Administrative Service (IAS) official posted a video of a huge cat in Rajasthan’s sweltering heat drinking water on X, the former Twitter. Sanjay Kumar revealed a few facts about the leopard along with the video.
Even during the day, the summer heat attracts leopards to waterholes, despite their natural shyness and secrecy. The IAS officer shared the video on X and said, “This is a well-known man at Jhalana Leopard Safari Park in Jaipur who is called ‘Rana’ by local guides.”
Leopards are generally secretive and shy, but summer heat draws them to waterholes even in broad daylight. Here is one famous male named 'Rana' by local guides at Jhalana leopard safari, Jaipur.@ntca_india @moefcc @touristInformer @rameshpandeyifs @NGTIndia @natgeowild pic.twitter.com/3XiGeOiCeO

The Rana leopard is seen in the footage calmly sipping water from a waterhole. In the background, one can hear birds chirping.
On June 5, the video was posted on X. It has been viewed over 3,000 times since it was shared, and it continues to grow. Many even poured their ideas onto the comments area. Beautiful boy. Big or small, cats possess an unparalleled grace and beauty. A person shared that even something as basic as drinking water may be elegant.
Another person said, “Amazing.”
Superb, uttered a third.
A terrifying video of a leopard in Gandarbal, Kashmir, being thrashed with sticks after it assaulted a wildlife official went viral earlier on social media.
The beginning of the video shows a few individuals attempting to catch a leopard. But the official man is hurt as the wild animal falls on top of him. Other forest authorities begin beating the leopard with sticks while attempting to save the official, and they continue until the leopard stops.
On social media, the footage incited fury, with one user writing, “Wildlife officers handling situations like common villagers.” “Natural” preservers!
“Are they really wildlife officers or some unskilled people wearing uniforms?” inquired a second.
Manipulating this should not be done. How about the Leopard? A third person commented, “He was just stuck in this cruel world.”
