Daughter of senior bureaucrats dies after jumping from 10th floor of high-rise
Mumbai, May 3: Lipi Rastogi (27), daughter of Maharashtra cadre IAS officers Radhika and Vikas Rastogi, allegedly died by suicide after jumping from a high-rise building in Mumbai early Monday morning, said the police.
Lipi Rastogi, a law student studying in Sonepat, Haryana, allegedly jumped from the 10th floor of a building near the state secretariat around 4 am. Despite being taken to the hospital, she succumbed to her injuries during treatment. A note was found in her room, and the police believe she was anxious about her exams.
Vikas Rastogi serves as Principal Secretary in Maharashtra’s Education Department, while Radhika Rastogi is Principal Secretary in the state’s Home Department.
This incident echoes a similar tragedy in 2017 when Maharashtra cadre IAS officers Milind and Manisha Mhaiskar lost their 18-year-old son, who also died after jumping from a high-rise in Mumbai.
