Pune Porsche accident: Third FIR registered against teen’s father and grandfather
Pune Porsche accident: The Pune Police have registered a third FIR against the father and grandfather of the teenager involved in the Porsche crash case. Earlier on Saturday, a local court in Pune remanded the grandfather to police custody until May 28.
Addressing the media, Pune Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar said the juvenile’s father, already in judicial custody, and the grandfather had offered cash and gifts to their family driver and later threatened him to take the blame for the accident. The police arrested the grandfather on charges of “wrongful confinement” of the family driver.
During the court proceedings, the police requested a seven-day custody for the grandfather. The teenager’s grandfather and father, Vishal Agarwal, a real estate developer, have been booked under IPC Sections 365 (kidnapping with intent to secretly and wrongfully confine a person) and 368 (wrongfully concealing or keeping a person in confinement).
In the early hours of May 19, two motorbike-borne software engineers were tragically killed in a crash in the Kalyani Nagar area of Pune. Following the incident, a local court in Pune on Friday remanded six accused, including the teenager’s father, to judicial custody. The teenager involved in the crash is currently in an observation home until June 5.
The parents of the two IT professionals, who are based in Madhya Pradesh, have demanded that the Supreme Court monitor the investigation and ensure that the trial is held in their home state.
