Horror captured on camera: Elderly man run over by reversing Toyota Fortuner | Watch
PTC Web Desk: In a harrowing incident that has been captured on CCTV, a n elderly man was seriously injured after being run over by a Toyota Fortuner in the Sipri Bazaar area of Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh
The video shows a narrow street with vehicles parked on both sides. When the driver began reversing the SUV, he was perhaps not aware of the elderly man behind his vehicle. The four-minute video shows white Uttar Pradesh-registered car slowly moving backward. Moments later, Rajendra Gupta, a local resident, was struck by the vehicle and fell under it. Oblivious to Gupta’s presence, the driver continued to reverse, dragging the man several metre.

Rajendra Gupta’s screams attracted the attention of nearby people, who alerted the driver. Realising the situation, the driver moved the vehicle forward, inadvertently dragging Gupta a few more feet.
The driver then exited the SUV to help pull the man out from under the vehicle. The Toyota Fortuner, which weighs over 2.5 tonne, inflicted serious injuries on Gupta.
The police have registered a case against the driver for reckless driving, endangering the life of a person, and causing grievous injuries.
