Swati Maliwal undergoes medical examination, reveals internal facial injuries: Sources

PTC News Desk: According to a medico-legal case report, AAP Rajya Sabha MP Swati Maliwal sustained internal injuries in her face after being reportedly assaulted by an aide to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. Maliwal spent more than three hours on Friday at AIIMS, Delhi, having a medical examination.

The Delhi Police, meantime, has stepped up its hunt for Bibhav Kumar, Kejriwal’s assistant, one day after filing a formal complaint in relation to the incident. After a Delhi Police squad recorded Maliwal’s statement at her home, a FIR was filed.

The former head of the Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) said in her complaint that Bibhav Kumar had punched, kicked, slapped, and beat her with a stick.

ASSAULT CASE OF SWATI MALIWAL: RECENT UPDATE

On Thursday night, Swati Maliwal had a four-hour medical examination. Along with Maliwal, a Delhi Police squad arrived at AIIMS at 11 p.m. and departed at 3:15 a.m. Maliwal was accompanied by Vandana Singh, a member of the Delhi Commission for Women. There was a CT scan and an X-ray.

1. Swati Maliwal has claimed in her lawsuit that she was repeatedly struck on “sensitive body parts” and subjected to physical assault.

2. Delhi Police has stepped up its investigation into the matter in the interim. When Bibhav Kumar’s police squad arrived at his house, he was nowhere to be found.

3. Approximately ten police units are looking into the matter; four of the units are tracking Bibhav’s whereabouts. According to sources, Bibhav might be in Amritsar. Additionally, since the INDIA bloc is planned to have a rally in Mahrashtra, police believe Bibhav may be there.

4. According to police sources, Swati Maliwal’s statement could be recorded in the case today under Section 164. The victim’s statement is recorded in front of the judge under Section 164.

5. All eight of the Chief Minister’s home’s CCTV cameras will have their footage from the incident examined by Delhi Police. Every person who spoke with Swati Maliwal at Kejriwal’s house will have their statements documented.

6. According to sources, on May 13, Swati Maliwal took a taxi to get to Kejriwal’s home. The cab driver’s statement will be documented by the police as well.

7. Members of the Delhi BJP Mahila Morcha staged protests in front of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s home in the meantime. The demonstrators called for Arvind Kejriwal’s resignation while brandishing bracelets.
