Massive crowd gathers outside voting booth as PM Modi casts vote in Ahmedabad
PTC News Desk: During the third phase of the Lok Sabha polls, Prime Minister Narendra Modi exercised his democratic right by voting at a school in Ahmedabad. The Nishan Higher Secondary School, located in the Ranip locality of the city, served as the designated polling booth for this significant event.
Arriving at the polling station shortly after 7:30 am, PM Modi was warmly welcomed by Union Minister Amit Shah. Together, the two leaders made their way to the booth amidst cheers and slogans from the enthusiastic crowd that had gathered to witness the occasion.
Along the route to the voting booth, PM Modi graciously granted an autograph to a supporter on a portrait depicting him. Outside the polling station, he emphasized the importance of voter turnout in a democracy, urging citizens to participate actively in the electoral process. “There is great importance of ‘daan’ in our country, and in the same spirit, the countrymen should vote as much as possible. Four rounds of voting are still ahead,” remarked PM Modi.
Additionally, he advised media personnel covering the elections to prioritize their health by staying hydrated: “take care of your health and drink a lot of water.”
Union Minister Amit Shah, contesting from Gandhinagar, is scheduled to cast his vote later in the day.
The ongoing third phase of the Lok Sabha elections encompasses 93 constituencies across 10 states and a Union Territory, marking a crucial juncture in India’s democratic process.
