Kangana Ranaut mixes up Tejasvi Surya, Tejashwi Yadav; latter responds to blunder

PTC News Desk: During an election rally in Himachal Pradesh, Kangana Ranaut, the actor-turned-politician, made an embarrassing slip-up, confusing RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav with BJP MP Tejasvi Surya while criticizing the former for allegedly “eating fish.” Ranaut’s faux pas occurred at a rally held in Mandi, Himachal Pradesh, where she is contesting as the BJP candidate.

In her address, Ranaut took aim at the opposition, stating, “There is a party of spoilt ‘shehzaadas’ (princes). They themselves don’t know where to go. Be it Rahul Gandhi, who wants to grow potatoes on the moon, or Tejasvi Surya, who indulges in hooliganism and eats fish.”

As videos of Ranaut’s mistake spread across social media, Tejashwi Yadav responded, humorously questioning, “Ye mohtarma kaun hai (Who is this madam)?”

Tejashwi Yadav himself had faced controversy recently when a video surfaced showing him and VIP chief Mukesh Sahni enjoying a meal of fried fish and rotis in a helicopter during campaigning. The video sparked criticism, particularly as it was posted during Navratri, drawing ire from BJP leaders, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Yadav later clarified that the video was recorded before Navratri began.

In addition to the blunder, Kangana Ranaut launched scathing attacks on the Congress, including its late leaders, prompting the party to file a complaint with the Election Commission. Ranaut made controversial remarks about Motilal Nehru and Jawaharlal Nehru, insinuating a connection between their wealth and British influence.

The Congress complaint accused Ranaut of using derogatory language and making inappropriate comparisons between freedom fighters and businessmen. The party condemned her remarks, highlighting her comments about Motilal Nehru and Jawaharlal Nehru, stating that she had crossed ethical boundaries by equating them with contemporary business figures.
