Amidst the electoral fervour, Rajnath Singh took a moment to offer prayers at the Dakshin Mukhi Hanuman Temple and the Hanuman Setu Temple, underscoring the spiritual and cultural fabric interwoven within the political landscape.
During the event, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami lauded Rajnath Singh for the transformative development initiatives undertaken in Lucknow. He acknowledged the continuum of progress initiated by former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee and seamlessly carried forward by Rajnath Singh, citing infrastructural advancements like flyovers, metro, parks, and improved civic amenities as tangible testimonies to this developmental trajectory.
In a statement to ANI, CM Dhami expressed, “I have seen the changing Lucknow, today there are flyovers, metro, all kinds of parks, roads, lights, streets. Lucknow has developed very fast and the work started during Atal Bihari’s time, all of them have been taken forward under the leadership of Rajnath Singh.”
Additionally, he remarked on the nationwide fervour to elect Prime Minister Modi for a third term, underscoring the palpable excitement and anticipation among the populace.
Swatantra Dev Singh, Uttar Pradesh Minister and BJP leader, highlighted Rajnath Singh’s unwavering commitment to addressing the concerns of marginalised communities, particularly Dalits and backward classes. He emphasised Singh’s journey from the helm of Yuva Morcha to the National President of BJP, noting his consistent advocacy for the upliftment of the underprivileged.
Rajnath Singh’s electoral track record, underscored by resounding victories in previous polls, reflects his strong support base and credibility among constituents. In the 2019 elections, he secured victory over Samajwadi Party’s Poonam Shatrughan Sinha with a commanding margin of over 6.3 lakh votes, following a similar triumph in 2014 against Congress candidate Rita Bahuguna Joshi.
As the nation progresses through the electoral phases, with two phases already concluded, the anticipation and momentum continue to build. The first phase witnessed polling across various states including Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Rajasthan, Sikkim, Tamil Nadu, Tripura, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, West Bengal, Andaman and Nicobar, Jammu and Kashmir, Lakshadweep, and Puducherry.
The recently concluded second phase, held on April 26th, encompassed polling across 88 Lok Sabha constituencies, spanning states like Kerala, Karnataka, Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Assam, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, West Bengal, Tripura, Manipur, and Jammu and Kashmir.
With the 2024 general elections unfolding across seven phases from April 19th to June 1st, the political landscape of India braces itself for a defining moment in its democratic journey. The outcome, slated to be announced on June 4th, holds profound implications for the nation’s future trajectory.
