PTC News Desk: In the Gadchiroli area of Maharashtra, a six-hour operation resulted in the deaths of twelve Maoists. Additionally, a number of automatic firearms were found.
Around ten in the morning, the Maharashtra Police, having received information about approximately fifteen Maoists camped near the Vandoli village near the Chhattisgarh border, started a huge operation from Gadchiroli.
Under the direction of the Deputy SP, seven C-60 police parties entered the densely forested areas to carry out the anti-Maoist operation.

An intense firefight started in the afternoon and went on sporadically for more than six hours, ending in the late evening. Despite having been shot, a jawan and a sub-inspector of the C-60 are reportedly not in danger. After being evacuated, they were sent to Nagpur to receive more care.
So far, twelve Maoist corpses and seven automobile weapons—two INSAS, one carbine, three AK47s, and one SLR—have been found.
Among the dead is DVCM Laxman Atram, also known as Vishal Atram, who was in charge of Tipagad Dalam. Police have started a search of the area but have not yet identified the other eleven.
